Emotiva has unveiled the Emotiva LXR-11 AV receiver and its companion LXP-16 surround processor, the brand’s newest home theater flagships and the first Emotiva products to ship with the complete Dirac Live suite, Dirac Live Room Correction, Dirac Live Bass Control and Dirac Live Active Room Treatment, built in at no extra cost. Dirac made the announcement itself, framing the launch as a major update to Emotiva’s home theater lineup and the brand’s biggest step yet into fully calibrated, room-aware surround sound.
What’s new about the Emotiva LXR-11?
The Emotiva LXR-11 is an 11-channel AV receiver built around Hypex NCoreX amplification, rated at 140 watts into 8 ohms and 240 watts into 4 ohms with a damping factor above 500, and it processes up to 9.4.6 channels of immersive surround sound. All eleven channels run fully fanless, so there’s no fan noise creeping into a quiet scene and no extra heat to design a rack around. HDMI 2.1 connectivity covers 8K/60Hz and 4K/120Hz passthrough with Dolby Vision and HDR10+, and two independent HDMI 2.1 outputs can run simultaneously or be switched on their own. Streaming runs through Emotiva’s built-in Emersa platform and companion app, alongside Spotify, TIDAL and Roon support. Both Dolby Atmos and DTS:X Pro decoding are on board, so the LXR-11 can drive large immersive speaker layouts without an outboard processor.

What does the LXP-16 add?
For anyone building a separates-based system, the LXP-16 carries the same 9.4.6-channel processing and immersive audio support as the Emotiva LXR-11, in a standalone surround processor that pairs ESS Hyperstream DACs with ADI SHARC DSP decoding. It ships with a calibrated measurement microphone, tripod and USB cable, a backlit remote with accelerometer-activated lighting, and both WiFi and Bluetooth antennas, everything needed to run a full Dirac Live measurement without buying extra accessories. Pairing the LXP-16 with a separate multichannel amplifier gives integrators more flexibility over how power gets distributed across a large speaker layout than a single all-in-one receiver would.

Why the full Dirac Live suite matters
Dirac Live Room Correction corrects both the magnitude and phase of a room’s sound response, addressing the uneven frequency response and imprecise imaging that conventional EQ tends to leave behind. Dirac Live Bass Control coordinates how one or several subwoofers integrate with the main speakers, and Dirac Live Active Room Treatment, Dirac’s most advanced acoustic tool, treats the whole speaker array as one coordinated system to actively control low-frequency resonances rather than correcting each speaker in isolation. This is the first Emotiva launch to combine all three, following on from the brand’s recent Differential Reference Design work on the XSP-2 preamplifier. For owners moving from a receiver or processor without room correction, the practical upside is fewer seat-to-seat differences in bass and imaging, without needing separate acoustic treatment or a third-party calibration box. Dirac frames the LXR-11 and LXP-16 as proof that a full room-optimization suite no longer has to be reserved for the priciest processors on the market.

Pricing and availability
The Emotiva LXR-11 is priced at $5,999 and the LXP-16 at $4,799; both ship in October 2026 with the full Dirac Live suite active out of the box, no separate license required. Full specifications are available on Emotiva’s LX Series page.
