In a significant enhancement for high-end home theater enthusiasts, British audio specialist ARCAM has integrated Dirac Live Active Room Treatment (ART) into its newly expanded Radia Series. This advanced acoustic optimization technology will be supported on the upcoming AVA15, AVA25, AVA35 audio video amplifiers and the AVP45 16-channel processor, elevating real-world performance in challenging listening environments.
Announced by Swedish audio innovators Dirac on February 3, 2026, the partnership brings Dirac Live ART—first introduced in 2023—as an optional upgrade alongside standard Dirac Live Room Correction and optional Dirac Live Bass Control. The new Radia AV models make their global debut at Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) 2026 in Barcelona, showcased at the HARMAN Luxury Audio booth (2F150).
Multiple-input, Multiple-Output technology
Dirac Live ART represents a breakthrough in room acoustics management. Unlike traditional equalization that treats speakers individually, ART employs patented MIMO (Multiple-Input, Multiple-Output) technology to transform the entire speaker and subwoofer array into a unified, cooperative network. This actively controls low-frequency resonances and reflections, resulting in tighter bass, reduced decay times, smoother response, improved timing, enhanced dialogue clarity, and a wider, more consistent sweet spot—even in irregular or acoustically difficult rooms.
ARCAM has long been recognized for delivering sound that honors the integrity of the original recording, said Fredric Tapper, Dirac’s Vice President and Head of Business Development. With Dirac Live Active Room Treatment coming to the Radia Series AV models, ARCAM customers will be able to experience a new level of low-frequency precision, clarity, and immersion. Together, we’re enabling home cinema systems to perform at their full potential, regardless of room constraints or speaker layout.
Magnitude and phase issues
Dirac Live ART complements the existing Dirac platform: Room Correction addresses magnitude and phase issues beyond conventional EQ, while Bass Control uses machine learning to optimize subwoofers and main speakers for consistent low-end performance across multiple seats. Combined, these form Dirac’s most sophisticated home theater solution to date.
The Radia Series has already resonated strongly with customers for its musical performance and distinctive design, noted James Todd, Senior Global Product Line Manager for ARCAM at HARMAN. Bringing Dirac Live Active Room Treatment to our first Radia AV models ensures that music, movies, and immersive formats are reproduced with exceptional control, depth, and realism in real-world living spaces.
Availability
The new AV lineup marks ARCAM’s bold expansion of the Radia Series—previously focused on stereo hi-fi—into full multichannel home cinema territory, coinciding with the brand’s 50th anniversary celebrations in 2026. These models succeed earlier generations with refreshed aesthetics aligned to the Radia family, modern connectivity including 8K HDMI support, and powerful amplification options tailored to various system scales.
The ARCAM Radia AVA15, AVA25, AVA35, and AVP45 are slated for availability beginning in Q3 2026, with Dirac Live ART offered as an upgrade for users seeking the ultimate in system-wide acoustic precision. This development positions ARCAM as a leader in delivering reference-level home cinema experiences that transcend traditional room limitations.
