Creative Sound Solutions has added the CSS Audio Veritas Three to its DIY speaker kit line-up, a three-way tower kit sold as a pair for $3,499. The CSS Audio Veritas Three is built on the same cabinet and driver complement as the brand’s well-regarded Criton 3TD-X tower, but moves to a premium crossover tier that CSS positions as the top of its Criton-platform range, above the Standard, Superior and Amber-capacitor options offered on the 3TD-X.
The CSS Audio Veritas Three: A Proven Platform, Refined Further
Rather than starting from a clean sheet, CSS Audio built the Veritas Three around a driver line-up it already trusts: an LD25X tweeter for high-frequency extension, a dedicated LDW6 midrange for detail through the vocal range, and dual LDW7 woofers per cabinet for low-frequency output. Where CSS Audio has historically offered the Criton 3TD-X with a choice of Standard, Superior or Jantzen Amber-capacitor crossovers, the Veritas Three represents a further step up, built around CSS’s own Stealth Cap capacitors and steel-laminate inductors tuned specifically for this driver set.

CSS Audio positions the change as a crossover-first upgrade: same cabinet, same drivers, more resolved crossover parts, all specific to the CSS Audio Veritas Three build. On the shared Criton 3-way platform, that combination is quoted at a flat frequency response from roughly 32Hz to 20kHz, a nominal impedance of 4 ohms and sensitivity of 87.8dB, with a recommended amplifier power range of 30 to 300 watts. Each driver is specified individually within the array: the bass pair handles up to 80 watts RMS at 8 ohms with 86dB sensitivity, the LDW6 midrange is rated at 80 watts at 8 ohms with 88.4dB sensitivity across roughly 30Hz to 4,500Hz, and the LD25X tweeter is rated at 75 watts at 8 ohms with 90dB sensitivity from 2,000Hz to 22,000Hz.

A Cabinet Built for the Long Haul
The CSS Audio Veritas Three ships as a tall three-way tower, measuring 105.4cm high, 21.6cm wide and 34.3cm deep, and weighing 31.75kg per speaker once assembled, dimensions inherited directly from the Criton platform it builds on. As with CSS Audio’s other DIY kits, the Veritas Three arrives as a complete build package: cabinet parts, drivers, the upgraded crossover, and CSS’s own assembly documentation, aimed at builders who want a finished result closer to a boutique towers than a typical DIY project. That positions it as a very different proposition from factory-built floorstanders such as the Q Acoustics 3040c, trading turnkey convenience for a build process builders can tune themselves.

CSS Audio has built a loyal following in the DIY speaker community precisely because kits like this one are engineered rather than assembled from off-the-shelf parts, with the company designing its own LD- and LDW-series drivers in-house rather than sourcing generic units. The Veritas tier is aimed at builders who already know the Criton platform’s sound and want to push the ceiling on resolution without changing the cabinet or driver investment they would otherwise make in a 3TD-X, and the CSS Audio Veritas Three sits at the top of that upgrade path for the tower-format kit.
CSS Audio Veritas Three Pricing and Availability
The CSS Audio Veritas Three is priced at $3,499 per pair and is sold directly through CSS Audio’s own online store, alongside the rest of the brand’s Criton-based tower and bookshelf kits. As with all CSS Audio kits, it ships unassembled, with cabinet finishing and speaker assembly left to the builder.
