Frequently asked questions
How does the PlayerPro 8K Signature Edition perform compared to other reference-grade players?
In this First Look it’s compared directly to Best of High End’s own reference player, the Zappiti PlayerPro 4K Audiocom Edition — with the R_volution said to leave it “struggling in the dark” in terms of performance.
Why doesn’t the PlayerPro 8K Signature Edition include a DAC?
The design is described as a full digital machine: leaving out the DAC keeps costs down, because the player’s sole focus is delivering the best possible picture and sound signal to the equipment downstream.
Can the PlayerPro 8K Signature Edition be rack-mounted?
Yes — a rack mount kit is included in the box, and the chassis has mounting panels that fit along the sides specifically for rack installation.
What can the R_video app do beyond just playing files?
Powered by AI, it organizes your library automatically, drives the animated on-screen interface, and supports multi-room streaming — the same proprietary app R_volution first built for its original PlayerOne model.
How much storage can the PlayerPro 8K Signature Edition hold?
It has two 3.5-inch SATA bays for up to 64TB in total, enough for a very large local film and music library.
