Pure Audio Streaming, the pioneering high-resolution immersive music streaming platform, has named Michael Romanowski, a five-time GRAMMY Award-winning mastering engineer and leading advocate for spatial audio, as its new Director of Content Licensing for the Americas.
Romanowski, owner and chief engineer of Coast Mastering in Berkeley, California, brings decades of expertise in high-fidelity and immersive music production to the role. He will make his formal debut with the company at the NAMM Show 2026 (January 20–24, Anaheim, California, booth 14916), where Pure Audio Streaming will showcase its expanding catalog and connect with artists, labels, and industry professionals.
Groundbreaking work in spatial formats
Romanowski is renowned for his groundbreaking work in spatial formats, having built one of the first surround studios in 2001 and added height channels in 2015. He has mastered hundreds of acclaimed albums and pioneered workflows that preserve the artist’s vision in immersive audio. This year, he earned another GRAMMY nomination for Best Immersive Audio Album for the genre-crossing project Immersed (created with Justin Gray), available exclusively on Pure Audio Streaming.
Pure Audio Streaming represents everything I’ve worked for in my career—the highest quality music, fair payout models for artists, accessible to everyone, and now in immersive, said Romanowski. The technology has caught up to the demand, and I’m excited to help reshape what it means to release an album in 2026.
In his new position, Romanowski will drive the next wave of immersive music adoption by:
- Developing partnerships with independent and major labels
- Guiding artists through immersive-ready production, mastering, and delivery
- Expanding the platform’s catalog of high-resolution immersive releases
- Educating the market on the creative and commercial opportunities of spatial streaming
Having worked with Michael Romanowski for 30 years, we are so excited to have him on board, said Jonathan Reichbach, CEO and Founder of Pure Audio Streaming. He’s pioneered working with artists for immersive audio delivery and now gets to share what he knows with everyone.
High-resolution immersive audio
Pure Audio Streaming stands out as the world’s first platform built natively for premium immersive experiences, delivering music in cutting-edge formats including high-resolution immersive audio, binaural, high-resolution multichannel, and lossless stereo PCM. Unlike traditional services, it uses a user-centric payout system that rewards artists based on actual listener engagement, fostering a more sustainable ecosystem for creators.
The company will be exhibiting at NAMM 2026 in booth 14916, where attendees can meet Romanowski and learn how Pure Audio Streaming is supporting the next generation of immersive music releases. Register for the show at namm.org/thenammshow/registration.
