In a move set to transform the world of professional audio-visual setups, Panasonic Connect Europe has unveiled its innovative Visual Software Suite (VSS), a comprehensive Windows-based platform designed to simplify complex projection workflows. By consolidating multiple Panasonic software tools into a single, intuitive interface, VSS promises to cut installation times, reduce operational costs, and enhance efficiency for high-end installations involving projectors and media processors.

Available as a free download, VSS is optimized for Panasonic’s projectors and the ET-FMP50 series media processors, including box-type devices (ET-FMP50/FMP20) and the Intel SDM-compatible function board (ET-SBFMP10). This compatibility extends to nearly all current Panasonic projectors and displays, making it an ideal solution for large-scale, intricate AV environments such as immersive exhibitions, corporate events, and premium entertainment venues.

A Unified Platform for End-to-End Control

At the heart of VSS is its user-friendly design, which requires no specialized training and features four streamlined screens for quick setup and on-site adjustments. AV professionals gain full control over multi-projector setups through automated functions that minimize manual intervention and boost productivity.

Key highlights include advanced calibration tools for geometry correction, edge blending, black level adjustment, color matching, and content splitting. Users can perform precise distortion corrections, free-form masking, uniformity adjustments, and brightness control to ensure flawless image quality across any projection surface—perfect for curved walls, domes, or irregular architectures common in high-end installations.

Beyond calibration, VSS offers robust projector controls such as lens shift, zoom, focus, power management, shutter operations, test pattern displays, and web browser access. Content playback and management are equally sophisticated, supporting multiple playlists, seamless gapless looping, integration with external UDP commands, and real-time previews on PCs or projection screens. For ongoing operations, automation and scheduling features allow for customized daily playback routines, ensuring reliable performance in demanding scenarios.

Camera-Integrated Precision for Complex Setups

When paired with compatible cameras—like select Nikon models (D5200, D5300, D5500, D5600, D7500, Z50, Z5) or the IDS GV-5890CP-C-HQ—VSS enables rapid, camera-based calibration. This automates geometry correction, edge blending, and color matching on challenging surfaces, eliminating the need for tedious manual tweaks. The result? Significantly reduced setup times and costs, allowing teams to focus on creative and resource-intensive aspects of projects.

Aligning with Panasonic’s MEVIX Vision

The launch of VSS aligns with Panasonic’s broader MEVIX strategy, which emphasizes end-to-end visual experiences across the ProAV ecosystem. By integrating projector control, auto-calibration, content management, and scheduling into a single-window solution, VSS not only streamlines workflows but also paves the way for more cost-effective and collaborative AV deployments.

Hartmut Kulessa, Head of Marketing for Visual System Solutions at Panasonic Connect Europe, commented: The Visual Software Suite marks a significant milestone in our journey to expand Panasonic’s software portfolio. It is designed to simplify every step of the visual experience for AV professionals, including design and implementation, within one unified platform. With the launch of our MEVIX brand, we are laying the foundation for a broader ecosystem of software solutions that empower customers to work more efficiently, flexibly, and collaboratively.

For AV enthusiasts and professionals seeking to elevate their high-end projection setups, VSS represents a game-changer in efficiency and precision. The software is now available for download, inviting users to experience the future of streamlined projector management. Visit Panasonic’s official site for more details and to get started.

Marco Lisi is the publisher of Best of High End, part of AV Concepts BV. His path into audio started early: as a teenager he was drawn into the world of free radio, presenting shows and living immersed in music every day. In his early twenties he ran his own production studio for five years, creating jingles and commercials — hands-on training in sound design, pro-audio workflows, and critical listening through studio monitors that still shapes how he evaluates gear today. He also spent years DJing in clubs before moving into publishing, first at two earlier online magazines before founding Best of High End. His hi-fi and home cinema passion was inherited from his father, an inveterate system-swapper. Marco's first setup — a confirmation gift — paired AKAI separates with entry-level Bowers & Wilkins speakers, a brand he stayed loyal to for years as his system grew from stereo into full surround and home cinema. Like many enthusiasts, he went through an extended "audiophile" phase chasing the next upgrade, before settling into a more grounded view: gear as a means to enjoy music and film, not an end in itself. Years of critical listening have given him a well-trained ear — the ability to characterize a system or pinpoint a change in the chain quickly and accurately. Just as important, his teaching background (a Belgian "regent" degree in Dutch language) gives him the tools to translate those listening impressions into clear, readable writing.
