A Legacy of Acoustic Innovation
For 80 years, JBL has pushed the boundaries of sound reproduction, from the groundbreaking Project Everest to today’s Summit Series. The new models showcase JBL’s proprietary technologies, including the HC4 composite cones, D2 compression drivers, and HDI™ Sonoglass® horn architecture. Each loudspeaker is meticulously crafted to reveal every nuance of a recording, offering audiophiles a deeply emotional and immersive experience.
Summit Makalu: A Sonic Powerhouse
Named after the fifth-highest Himalayan peak, the Summit Makalu is a 3-way floorstanding loudspeaker designed for large listening spaces. Featuring a 12-inch woofer, an 8-inch midrange driver, and JBL’s patented D2 compression driver, the Makalu delivers deep, articulate bass and crystal-clear imaging. Its contoured cabinet, available in ebony veneer with gold accents or high-gloss piano black with platinum detailing, makes it a striking centerpiece. Priced at $44,995 USD per pair, the Makalu is a bold statement of performance and luxury.
Summit Pumori: Grace and Strength
Inspired by Mount Pumori, the Summit Pumori balances musical purity with dynamic power. This 3-way floorstanding model features a 10-inch woofer, an 8-inch midrange driver, and the signature D2 compression driver with HDI™ horn. Its softly contoured cabinet, available in luxurious finishes, delivers warmth and clarity. Priced at $29,995 USD per pair, the Pumori is ideal for audiophiles seeking emotional depth in their music.
Summit Ama: Compact Clarity
The Summit Ama, named after the picturesque Ama Dablam, is a 2-way stand-mount loudspeaker that combines elegance with exceptional sound. Equipped with an 8-inch HC4 cone woofer and D2 compression driver, it offers remarkable clarity and coherence. The Ama rests on a matching steel-and-aluminum stand and is priced at $19,995 USD per pair, including stands, making it a versatile choice for smaller spaces.
Craftsmanship Meets Innovation
Each Summit Series loudspeaker is a work of art, featuring heavily braced, resonance-free cabinets and luxurious finishes. Details like rhodium-plated, carbon-fiber-wrapped binding posts and JBL’s MultiCap™ crossover network ensure sonic purity. The inclusion of JBL IsoAcoustics™ adjustable isolation feet further enhances performance, making these loudspeakers a pinnacle of design and engineering.
