In a significant development for the world of high-quality audio technology, the HIGH END international audio show will make its move from Munich to Vienna starting in 2026. This announcement was made during the annual general meeting of the HIGH END SOCIETY, the association behind this prestigious trade show. The decision marks an important milestone in the event’s evolution, setting the stage for a renewed focus on excellence in audio reproduction.

From MOC to Austria Center Vienna

The HIGH END show will maintain its tradition of showcasing cutting-edge audio technology by again utilizing the MOC Event Center in Munich from May 15 to 18, 2025. However, this will be the final year the event is held in Munich, as the following year, the show will relocate to the Austria Center Vienna (ACV) from May 28 to 31, 2026. The ACV, a premier exhibition venue in the heart of Austria’s capital, has recently undergone significant renovations, enhancing its capabilities with state-of-the-art digital technology.

Enhanced opportunities for exhibitors

Boasting a total of 26,000 square meters of exhibition space spread across multiple floors, the ACV will offer enhanced opportunities for exhibitors to showcase their advancements in audio technology. Many exhibitors got a sneak peek of the venue’s potential during the FINEST AUDIO SHOW Vienna in November 2023, receiving overwhelmingly positive feedback about its modern facilities and spacious layout.

Stefan Dreischärf, Managing Director of the HIGH END SOCIETY, expressed enthusiasm regarding the upcoming transition. “The Austria Center Vienna not only scores with excellent exhibition conditions, but also with a progressive environment that will raise the level of the HIGH END and ensure its success in the coming years,” he stated.

After more than 20 years in Munich, the move to Vienna symbolizes a necessary evolution, bringing fresh prospects for innovation and growth within the audio community.

Vienna, renowned for its rich history and cultural vibrancy, stands as an ideal host city for an event steeped in musical heritage. Recognized globally as a capital of classical music, the Austrian capital complements the ethos of the HIGH END trade show. The city’s exceptional accessibility and outstanding logistical conditions further enhance its appeal as a prime location. Dreischärf remarked, “The new location creates a perfect connection to our trade show and will also be a win-win for everyone involved in terms of atmosphere.”

The move has garnered strong support from the board of the HIGH END SOCIETY e.V., with Chairman Jürgen Timm emphasizing the opportunity for growth. “We see the move to Vienna as a great opportunity to make the HIGH END even more attractive, to strengthen it as the leading meeting place in the world for the industry and to make it fit for the future,” he said.

New chapter in Vienna

The more than 40-year tradition of the HIGH END audio show is set to embark on a new chapter when it relocates to Vienna, creating promises for fresh collaborations and innovations within the audio industry. As the anticipation builds for the inaugural HIGH END Vienna in 2026, the audiophile community awaits the opportunities this change will bring, ensuring that this globally recognized event continues to shine as a beacon for audio enthusiasts worldwide.

Marco Lisi is the publisher of Best of High End, part of AV Concepts BV. His path into audio started early: as a teenager he was drawn into the world of free radio, presenting shows and living immersed in music every day. In his early twenties he ran his own production studio for five years, creating jingles and commercials — hands-on training in sound design, pro-audio workflows, and critical listening through studio monitors that still shapes how he evaluates gear today. He also spent years DJing in clubs before moving into publishing, first at two earlier online magazines before founding Best of High End. His hi-fi and home cinema passion was inherited from his father, an inveterate system-swapper. Marco's first setup — a confirmation gift — paired AKAI separates with entry-level Bowers & Wilkins speakers, a brand he stayed loyal to for years as his system grew from stereo into full surround and home cinema. Like many enthusiasts, he went through an extended "audiophile" phase chasing the next upgrade, before settling into a more grounded view: gear as a means to enjoy music and film, not an end in itself. Years of critical listening have given him a well-trained ear — the ability to characterize a system or pinpoint a change in the chain quickly and accurately. Just as important, his teaching background (a Belgian "regent" degree in Dutch language) gives him the tools to translate those listening impressions into clear, readable writing.
