AudioVector has introduced the new R5 Arreté, a premium floorstanding loudspeaker that sits between the R3 and R6 models in the company’s R Series. Launched in early May 2026, the R5 Arreté is the first speaker in the range to incorporate advanced technologies directly derived from the flagship R10 Arreté, developed over five years with more than 2,000 hours of listening tests.
Engineering Excellence: 3.5-Way Design with Dedicated Bass Roles
The R5 Arreté employs a sophisticated 3.5-way configuration with a bottom-mounted bass reflex system. It features three 6.5-inch drivers using Audiovector’s Accelerated Force Concept (AFC) carbon sandwich construction: two dedicated bass units operating in distinct roles—one handling the full bass range and the second focused exclusively on the deepest frequencies—plus a dedicated midrange driver. This separation preserves exceptional midrange clarity and speed.
High frequencies are managed by a newly developed large-format Air Motion Transformer (AMT) tweeter with approximately 3,800 mm² radiating area, extending response up to 53 kHz for lightning-fast transients and exceptional detail.
Key Technologies Inherited from the R10 Flagship
The new model incorporates several proprietary Audiovector technologies:
- Accelerated Force Concept (AFC) and Low Compression Concept (LCC) — reduce driver inertia and internal air pressure build-up.
- Second-generation Freedom Grounding — minimises unwanted electrical noise.
- Soundstage Enhancement Concept (SEC) — optimises rear-wave control for wider, deeper imaging.
- Cryogenically treated crossover capacitors and a three-position damping adjustment for amplifier matching.
An advanced Arreté plinth with precision spikes and decoupling further reduces resonances, while the narrow-front cabinet design minimises diffraction for a cleaner, more precise soundstage.
Refined Danish Craftsmanship and Finishes
Hand-built in Copenhagen from high-density materials, the R5 Arreté measures 111 cm tall (with plinth) and maintains a relatively slim footprint for its performance level. Standard finishes include Piano Black, White Silk, African Mahogany Piano, and Italian Walnut, with custom paint options available. A black cloth grille is supplied.
