SOtM has introduced a trio of new products that touch on three distinct pillars of a high-end digital audio system: playback, power, and timing. The SOtM sMS-500 leads the lineup as a next-generation network music player, joined by the sPS-550 high-performance power supply and the sCLK-OCX10ultra master clock generator. All three are now available to order, with shipping expected within approximately 10 business days of order confirmation.
Each product addresses a different link in the digital audio chain. Together, SOtM says they reflect the company’s ongoing commitment to preserving signal integrity, minimizing unwanted electrical noise, and bringing listeners closer to the source material.
SOtM sMS-500: A New Generation of Network Audio
The SOtM sMS-500 marks the start of a new generation of SOtM network audio products. Rather than a simple refresh of the acclaimed sMS-200 series, it features an entirely new hardware architecture redesigned from the motherboard upward, with its system design, power architecture, and processing platform developed as an integrated environment dedicated specifically to music playback.
SOtM’s Eunhasu operating system has been optimized for the new platform, supporting a wide range of playback environments including Roon Ready, UPnP/DLNA, MPD, Diretta Host and Target, Qobuz Connect, HQPlayer Embedded, and HQPlayer NAA, alongside a dedicated audio-grade USB output designed to pair cleanly with the SOtM sMS-500’s new hardware platform.
sPS-550: Eight Voltages, 80 Watts of Clean Power
The sPS-550 is a high-performance power supply built to deliver clean, stable power to digital audio and computer-based audio systems, including the SOtM sMS-500 itself. Using SOtM’s proprietary power supply design and carefully selected audio-grade components, it’s engineered to suppress both noise entering from the AC mains and unwanted electrical noise generated by connected equipment.
The sPS-550 offers eight selectable DC output voltages: 5V, 7V, 9V, 10V, 12V, 15V, 17V, and 19V, with a maximum output power of 80W, expanding considerably on the earlier sPS-500’s four voltage options and roughly 45 to 55W ceiling. Current limits scale with the selected voltage, from 8A at 5V/7V/9V/10V down to 4.2A at 19V, and the unit includes protection against over-current, over-temperature, and output short circuits. It’s designed to complement products such as the sMS-500, sMS-2000, and sNH-10G, though SOtM notes it should not be treated as a replacement for the sMS-2000’s internal power supply.
sCLK-OCX10ultra: A Quieter Master Clock
The sCLK-OCX10ultra is SOtM’s next-generation master clock generator, built to provide a precise 10MHz reference signal for compatible digital audio equipment. Compared with the existing sCLK-OCX10, the new ultra version achieves roughly a 5dB improvement in phase noise in the low-frequency region around 10Hz, with the internal oscillator rated at a typical phase noise of -145dBc/Hz at 10Hz and temperature stability of ±5ppb.
Ten independently isolated BNC clock outputs allow multiple compatible devices, including the SOtM sMS-500, to share a common reference clock while minimizing interference between connected components, making the sCLK-OCX10ultra suited to more complex, multi-box digital audio systems.
Pricing for all three products has not yet been published for every market; interested buyers can contact SOtM directly or a regional dealer such as Chameleon Audio, which already lists the sPS-550 for preorder in Europe.
