Sonance is tackling one of custom install’s most persistent headaches: soundbars that look comically undersized beneath today’s extra-large televisions. The Sonance SBXL-100 is an 82.68-inch powered soundbar built specifically for 85-inch-and-up displays, pairing a full-range 2.0-channel driver array with a bundled 250-watt amplifier so integrators can spec a single box instead of chasing down a matching subwoofer. First shown publicly at CEDIA Expo 2026 in Denver, the SBXL-100 is now shipping and joins Sonance’s wider soundbar range alongside the SPL, Centergy and QX-SPL series — and it isn’t the only large-format option installers have to choose from; MartinLogan’s Discrete Cinema Series takes a similarly scaled approach from a different architectural-audio brand.
The Sonance SBXL-100 Solves a Scale Problem
Large-format televisions — 85, 98 and even 100 inches — have become common in media rooms, but most soundbars were never designed to visually balance a screen that size. At 82.68 x 8.11 x 4.05 inches, the Sonance SBXL-100 is proportioned to sit beneath extra-large displays without looking like an afterthought, and it ships with a straight-edge alignment template, shim kit and mounting brackets for level wall installation even on uneven surfaces. It can also be set on a table top for rack-free installs. A fabric magnetic grille conceals the driver array and gives the bar a clean, architectural face whether it is wall-mounted or freestanding.

Full-Range Sound Without a Separate Subwoofer
Inside the cabinet, Sonance pairs a 6.5-inch anodized aluminum woofer with a rubber surround and high excursion capability alongside a 1.2-inch ferrofluid-cooled cloth-dome tweeter mounted in its own acoustic back chamber. Dual integrated passive radiators extend low-frequency output down to a claimed 38Hz, which the company says is enough for most television, music and media-room use without adding a subwoofer. The included UA 2-125 ARC amplifier delivers 250 watts of total system output into the bar’s 4-ohm nominal load, with sensitivity rated at 87dB SPL and a stated 38Hz-25kHz frequency response (±3dB).

ARC/eARC Connectivity Simplifies Setup
Rather than bury DSP and amplification inside an increasingly thin enclosure, Sonance keeps the UA 2-125 ARC as a separate, purpose-built amplifier and connects it to the television over a single HDMI ARC/eARC cable with CEC support, so the TV remote can handle volume and power without adding a second remote to the mix. Setup runs through Sonance’s app-based DSP, which the company positions as a simplified alternative to a full manual calibration workflow for installers working across multiple large-screen rooms.

Pricing and availability
The Sonance SBXL-100 is available now, including the UA 2-125 ARC amplifier, through US retailers such as Best Buy ($2,999.99) and Abt ($2,998.99); Sonance’s own site directs custom installers and consumers to a local dealer rather than listing pricing directly. A matching SBXL-100 replacement grille is sold separately. The soundbar was shown publicly at CEDIA Expo 2026 in Denver (September 2-4) alongside Sonance’s redesigned PowerPipe X hidden-subwoofer range, and the company notes that installed cost for a full system will still depend on amplification, grille finish and the complexity of a given install.
