Yamaha has introduced the WXA-70A Compact Streaming Amplifier and WXC-70A Compact Streamer, two components designed to bring authentic Yamaha sound, modern streaming convenience and flexible integration into today’s living spaces. Rather than offering compact convenience alone, the Yamaha WXA-70A and its WXC-70A companion are engineered to deliver musical satisfaction that approaches full-size Hi-Fi components, making their compact form a gateway to serious sound rather than a compromise.
An Audiophile-Grade DAC on Pure Ground
The Yamaha WXA-70A combines a compact chassis with robust Class D amplification — ICEPower’s new-generation 125ASX2 module — to drive a wide range of speakers with clarity, control and scale, while the WXC-70A adds advanced network audio capability to existing Hi-Fi systems as a high-quality streamer. Both models share an audiophile-grade ESS SABRE ES9039Q2M DAC built on Yamaha’s proprietary D.O.P.G. (DAC on Pure Ground) configuration, which creates an exceptionally clean ground environment for delicate analog signals. High-precision internal DSP and clock-rebuilding ASRC technology help maintain focus, timing accuracy and spatial precision across sources, from TV audio to wireless streaming.
YPAO Room Calibration and a Rigid Aluminum Build
Both the WXA-70A and WXC-70A feature YPAO (Yamaha Parametric room Acoustic Optimizer), which uses an included microphone to measure the listening environment and adjust playback for a natural, balanced soundstage without complex setup. Built with the craftsmanship expected of a premium Yamaha Hi-Fi component, both models use a rigid aluminum enclosure with center-bar reinforcement and damping materials that suppress unwanted vibration and resonance, helping preserve musical detail and clarity.
HDMI eARC, MusicCast and Custom-Install Ready
With HDMI eARC/ARC, the Yamaha WXA-70A and WXC-70A make it easy to enjoy high-quality TV audio through a single cable, with Dialogue Level control keeping dialogue clear without raising overall volume. MusicCast brings simple multi-room control from a single app, while Wi-Fi streaming covers AirPlay 2, Google Cast, Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz Connect and Roon Ready. For custom installers, Control4 compatibility, web setup, a dedicated IR input and 12V trigger support round out an integration-ready feature set.

The Yamaha WXA-70A is priced at £1,199 / $1,300 / AU$1,999, and the WXC-70A at £859 / $1,000 / AU$1,599. Both models arrive in November.
