Dynaudio has refreshed its flagship passive loudspeaker line with the new Dynaudio Confidence i series, an eight-years-in-the-making update to the Confidence range that has served as the Danish brand’s reference for high-end home audio since 2018. The Dynaudio Confidence i series comprises three models, the floorstanding Confidence 50i and Confidence 30i and the bookshelf Confidence 20i, each built around a redesigned tweeter and an updated directivity system aimed at tightening the gap between recording and listening room. Full technical detail is published on Dynaudio’s official Confidence i product page.
A new Esotar 3i tweeter across the Dynaudio Confidence i range
At the heart of each Dynaudio Confidence i model sits the new Esotar 3i, which Dynaudio calls the most accurate high-frequency driver it has built. Improvements to the magnet assembly and a reformulated ferrofluid in the motor system are aimed at preserving the tweeter’s familiar smooth character while extracting more low-level detail from recordings, without pushing the sound toward a harder or more analytical presentation.

Directivity Control reaches version 3.0
Dynaudio Directivity Control, the waveguide technology that beams sound toward the listening position rather than letting it bounce off room surfaces, moves to its third generation in the Confidence i series. The Confidence 30i and 50i receive a redesigned DDC Lens for wider horizontal dispersion and a deeper soundstage, while the bookshelf Confidence 20i gains an entirely new DDC Lens built specifically around the Esotar 3i tweeter.
The crossover has also been simplified and optimised for directivity, power response and dynamics. Dynaudio worked with Duelund on upgraded capacitors and developed a new component of its own, the patent-pending UltraPrecision Array resistor, built to tolerances the company says are more than ten times tighter than off-the-shelf parts. Dynaudio has a long history in this space: readers curious about the brand’s other recent flagship work can see our coverage of the Dynaudio Opus One debut at HIGH END Vienna, a separate model from the Confidence i series.

Three Confidence i models, one reference
The Confidence 50i is the Dynaudio Confidence i flagship, a 3-way floorstander rated at 88dB sensitivity with a 37Hz-27kHz frequency response. The Confidence 30i is a smaller 3-way floorstander at 86dB and 39Hz-27kHz, while the Confidence 20i is a 2-way bookshelf model at 87dB and 45Hz-27kHz. All three Dynaudio Confidence i models use a down-firing bass reflex port and a DDC-equipped crossover.
Pricing and availability
Dynaudio Confidence i models in Blonde Wood and Ruby Wood High Gloss finishes reach shops from 24 November 2026 in Europe, with a January 2027 global rollout; Space High Gloss follows globally in early 2027.
