Lorenzo Audio has unveiled the Grande, a towering new flagship loudspeaker designed to close the gap between high-end reproduction and the experience of live music. Built entirely from wood and standing over two meters tall, the Lorenzo Audio Grande is the most ambitious expression yet of the brand’s philosophy of using exclusively wood for its speaker enclosures, as detailed on the Lorenzo Audio website.
Four years of crossover development
At the heart of the Lorenzo Audio Grande is the company’s proprietary Resonance Optimization System (ROS), a technology that harnesses tonal qualities previously found only in musical instruments to bring naturalness and emotion to the listening experience. The Grande pairs drivers using paper cones and Alnico magnets with top-tier compression drivers and tweeters, all connected through exclusive crossovers built with Duelund, Jupiter, Mundorf and Pathaudio components, the product of more than four years of intensive optimization.
The result, according to Lorenzo Audio, is a level of sonic mastery not previously seen in the industry, with tonal richness, an immersive soundstage and realistic dynamics. High sensitivity of 98 dB makes the Grande well suited to moderate-power vacuum tube or solid-state amplifiers, with the brand recommending amplification between 20 and 500 watts.

Handcrafted construction of the Lorenzo Audio Grande
Every Lorenzo Audio Grande cabinet is built from 62mm-thick phenolic laminated wood, machined with 5-axis CNC equipment and fitted with hand-turned bass reflex ports made from special tonewood. Panzerholz wood pieces, designed in-house, are used throughout in critical spots, including the nuts and knobs of the speaker connectors and the insulating discs on the feet, to improve sound quality.
The cabinets are finished in natural wood veneer selected for its beauty and durability, and applied entirely by hand by a fourth-generation craftsman whose family has worked with traditional techniques since 1888. The crossover itself is hand-welded without printed circuit boards, and internal wiring uses high-purity copper in multiple sections. Solid steel feet, designed in-house with a Panzerholz lower piece to remove floor-borne vibration, complete the construction, along with Hemingway Audio Z-Core jumpers included as standard.
