Lyngdorf Audio is set to showcase its latest innovations at ISE 2025: the D-6 two-way in-wall speaker and the DW-10 high-performance shallow in-wall woofer. These new additions to the Discreet series underscore the Danish company’s dedication to providing custom installation speakers that blend seamlessly into any environment.
Expanding the Discreet Series
The Discreet series has garnered significant acclaim since its inception, now comprising nine models, including the D-500, D-500 Center, D-5, D-5 IC, D-6, D-60, D-60 C, along with two in-wall woofers, the DW-1 and DW-10. This expansion reflects Lyngdorf Audio‘s commitment to offering versatile and high-quality audio solutions tailored to modern living spaces.
D-6: A Space-Saving Acoustic Marvel
The D-6 stands out as a compelling alternative to conventional two-way bookshelf or stand-mount speakers. Featuring a sleek rectangular design, the D-6 is engineered for spaces where traditional speakers may not fit, thanks to its lighter, lower-profile construction that eliminates the need for a pre-mounted MDF enclosure. Despite its minimalist design, the D-6 does not compromise on sound quality, utilizing premium drive units mounted on a low-resonance MDF baffle to deliver exceptional audio performance.
With a 6.5-inch aluminum midrange/woofer and a soft dome tweeter, the D-6 provides a coherent and balanced sound signature that rivals that of traditional speakers. Its sensitivity rating of 89 dB and nominal impedance of 6 ohms mean it is exceptionally easy to drive, making the D-6 an ideal choice for both two-channel stereo systems and high-performance surround setups in home theater environments.
DW-10: Bass Performance Redefined
Complementing the D-6 is the DW-10, a high-performance in-wall woofer designed for installations where space is at a premium. The DW-10 builds on the foundation laid by the DW-1, which was introduced last year. This new model features a slightly deeper enclosure that accommodates two woofer drivers, making it suitable for 6-inch (15 cm) cavity walls. The design maximizes inner cabinet volume, allowing for impressive bass extension despite its slim profile.
The DW-10 is equipped with two powerful high-excursion 10-inch woofers, specifically customized for Lyngdorf Audio. These innovative drivers employ a unique voice-coil and cone geometry, along with a robust four-layer voice coil, dual aluminum cone, and a potent neodymium magnet, to deliver outstanding bass performance. The result is a woofer that can achieve high output levels while maintaining low-frequency reach, ensuring a seamless integration with the main speakers.
Overall
The D-6 and DW-10 are set to make their debut at ISE 2025, with availability scheduled for the first quarter of 2025. As part of the Discreet series, these new models exemplify Lyngdorf Audio’s commitment to marrying aesthetic design with cutting-edge audio technology, making them ideal solutions for contemporary home entertainment systems.
For audiophiles and installation professionals alike, the D-6 and DW-10 promise to elevate the audio experience while maintaining the elegance and discretion that modern spaces demand.
