Dan D’Agostino Master Audio Systems has introduced the Momentum Z Monoblock Amplifier a flagship evolution that redefines high-current amplification for the most demanding high-end systems.
“The Momentum Z Monoblock Amplifier embodies the essence of my company’s design philosophy, combining technical mastery and timeless aesthetics in high-current power amplification designed to elevate every system.” Dan D’Agostino, Founder
This latest Momentum generation builds on the series’ legendary foundation with comprehensive advancements in circuit design, power delivery, thermal management, and smart connectivity. The result is an amplifier that delivers effortless dynamics, crystalline transparency, and lifelike musical scale even under the most challenging speaker loads.
Revolutionary Power Supply and Kinetic Drive Regulator
At its core lies a massive dual 1,200 VA linear toroidal transformer array, enabling staggering output: 500 Watts into 8 Ω, 1,000 Watts into 4 Ω, and 2,000 Watts into 2 Ω. The proprietary Kinetic Drive Regulator maintains ultra-stable voltage rails regardless of AC mains fluctuations or speaker demands, eliminating ripple, noise, and distortion that plague conventional designs. This innovation combined with a hybrid MOSFET/bipolar output stage ensures instantaneous current delivery, keeping complex passages articulate and alive at any volume.
Cutting-Edge Input Stage and Intelligent Control
The Momentum Z introduces the brand’s first JFET-based input stage, offering ultra-low noise and linear signal handling to preserve every micro-detail from the source. Users can select between a JFET-optimized input (ideal for D’Agostino preamps) or a conventional one via a simple switch.
A software-driven control system continuously monitors bias, temperature, and other parameters for optimal stability. Adding modern convenience, the amplifier features an RJ45 Ethernet port a first for D’Agostino power amps allowing real-time monitoring of voltages, bias, DC offset, temperature, and more through any web browser on the home network.
Iconic Design and Thermal Mastery
True to the Momentum aesthetic, the chassis blends solid aluminum with massive copper elements for both performance and visual drama. The standout feature is the new 5-axis machined copper heat sink, carved from a single 42 lb (19 kg) billet. Its elliptical geometry provides superior cooling, ensuring reliability during extended high-power operation while enhancing overall sonic consistency.
The Dual Domain Meter Display merges tradition and technology: a high-resolution 3.5-inch LCD shows power and system data, while the classic analog meter wand pays homage to the brand’s signature style.
