Sony unveils the RX10 V, the fifth-generation model in its acclaimed RX10 series of all-in-one superzoom cameras. Aimed at travellers, wildlife photographers and content creators who want a single body that covers everything from wide-angle to super-telephoto, the Sony RX10 V pairs a 24-600mm ZEISS Vario-Sonnar T* lens with a stacked 1.0-type Exmor RS CMOS sensor and three new processors dedicated to real-time subject recognition.

A 25x zoom built for every scenario
The heart of the Sony RX10 V is its ZEISS Vario-Sonnar T* F2.4-4.0 lens, spanning 24mm to 600mm with optical image stabilisation and macro focusing from roughly 3cm at the wide end. The stacked 1.0-type Exmor RS CMOS sensor delivers around 20.1 effective megapixels, and the BIONZ XR processor keeps noise low even at higher ISO settings and in dim light. Twelve Creative Look presets let photographers adjust colour and texture in-camera, while an upgraded D-Range Optimizer balances shadows and highlights up to level 8.
Real-time Recognition AF at up to 30fps
Three new processors give the RX10 V Real-time Recognition AF, which identifies people, animals, birds, insects, cars, trains and planes and tracks them automatically in auto mode. Combined with blackout-free continuous shooting at up to 30fps and AF/AE calculations up to 60 times per second, the camera is built to keep fast-moving subjects in focus without missing the decisive moment.

4K 120p video and creator-friendly features
Video shooters get 4K 120p recording for slow motion up to 5x, Active Mode stabilisation for handheld clips, and a Multi Interface Shoe with digital audio support for compatible microphones. AI-assisted Auto Framing keeps subjects centred automatically, while S-Cinetone and S-Log3 with LUT support add creative flexibility. A redesigned, larger Quad-VGA OLED viewfinder and a 3.0-type LCD with roughly 1.62 million dots round out the handling, alongside a NP-FZ100 battery good for about 630 shots per charge, dust and splash resistance, Wi-Fi and USB-C with 4K 30p livestreaming support.

For owners already exploring Sony’s wider lineup, the Sony 1000X THE COLLEXION headphones make a fitting travel companion to the new RX10 V.
