ATOLL is powering Dynaudio’s New Contour 20 Black Edition loudspeakers at AXPONA 2025 and the sound is simply sublime. The system features the New ATOLL IN400 Evolution integrated amplifier ($7,000) and New CD400 Evolution CD Player ($7,900). The system also included the ATOLL ST300 Streamer/ DAC/Preamp ($4,900), with cabling from Transparent Audio.
The Contour 20 Black Edition ($8,000 U.S.) is a super-premium version of the award-winning Contour 20i. Its tweeter has been upgraded from the already-stellar Esotar 2i to a full-on Esotar 3, also found in the Heritage Collection and our top-of-the-tree Confidence range. It has improved motor and spider designs, and its crossover has been given a full makeover. Everything from resistors and capacitors to internal cabling and even wire coils has been given a boost.
Listening to the Contour 20 Black Edition I was impressed with how it disappeared into the room while somehow sounding like a floor standing speakers with impressive bass, soundstage and dynamics. If it can sound this good in a hotel room I can’t wait to see how it will sound when I get a chance to review it in a few weeks. So stay tuned.
