Dan D’Agostino Master Audio Systems brought two new products to Munich. In the flagship Momentum series, the new Momentum C4 preamplifier introduces “C4” — complementary four — a brand new input-stage circuit that president Bill McKeegan says has “revolutionized” the sound of the preamplifier. The audio chassis connects to its power supply through a foot system designed for the most direct possible connection between the power and audio circuits. It’s also the first Momentum-series product with an optional digital streaming package, adding Wi-Fi and Ethernet alongside the legacy connections, and a new bi-directional remote with its own display that mirrors any change made on the unit itself. Shipping was set to begin in July 2024.
The Pendulum: a full-featured integrated amplifier below the Progression series
Alongside the Momentum C4, the brand introduced an entirely new platform: the Pendulum integrated amplifier, positioned just below the Progression series for smaller systems without giving up power — 120 watts per channel into 8 ohms, rising to 240 watts into 4 ohms. It packs in a full phono stage for moving-coil cartridges with multiple loading options, plus a complete digital package with streaming, Wi-Fi, Ethernet and optical connections. For the first time in a Dan D’Agostino product, it also includes HDMI with enhanced audio return channel, for a simple connection to a TV. Shipping was set to begin in September 2024.
