Samsung Electronics America has made a significant leap forward in home entertainment technology with the announcement of Eclipsa Audio, a revolutionary 3D audio technology developed in collaboration with Google. This advanced audio solution will be featured across Samsung’s entire 2025 TV lineup, including everything from Crystal UHD models to the premium Neo QLED 8K series, alongside the brand’s soundbars.
Eclipsa Audio is designed to elevate the viewer’s experience by providing a more immersive way to enjoy audio and content, particularly on platforms like YouTube. This innovative technology allows content creators to craft dynamic audio landscapes, enabling viewers to enjoy a captivating 3D sound experience while watching their favorite shows and videos.
“We are proud to lead the industry with the integration of Eclipsa Audio into our 2025 TV and soundbar lineup,” said Taeyong Son, Executive Vice President and Head of the R&D Team, Visual Display Business, Samsung Electronics. “This innovation opens new possibilities for immersive audio experiences and reinforces our commitment to shaping the future of home entertainment.”
Three-dimensional sound environment
The integration of Eclipsa Audio allows creators to manipulate audio data by adjusting the location and intensity of sounds, as well as incorporating spatial reflections. This means that viewers can experience a truly three-dimensional sound environment, enhancing the overall impact of visual storytelling.
Samsung and Google collaboration
Starting in 2025, content creators will have the capability to upload videos with Eclipsa Audio tracks to their YouTube channels. This will provide viewers using Samsung’s 2025 devices with an opportunity to engage with high-quality, immersive audio content like never before. To maintain consistent audio quality across devices, Samsung and Google are collaborating with the Telecommunications Technology Association (TTA) to establish a certification program for devices utilizing Eclipsa Audio technology.
Jim Bankoski, Vice President of Engineering at Google Chrome, expressed enthusiasm about this new development: “We believe that Eclipsa Audio has the potential to change the way we experience sound. We are excited to see how the creator community uses it to create new and innovative audio experiences.”
With Eclipsa Audio, Samsung continues to assert its position as the top global TV brand for 18 consecutive years, set to redefine how consumers enjoy home entertainment. As this technology rolls out across their 2025 models, the fusion of stunning visuals and immersive audio promises to transform viewing experiences, inviting audiences into a new world of sound.
