The latest version of R_video has officially launched, introducing a highly anticipated feature that users have been waiting for: multiroom playback resumption. This groundbreaking enhancement is now fully operational across all R_volution media players, allowing users to enjoy seamless viewing experiences throughout their homes.
Important Update Notice
To take advantage of the new multiroom playback feature, it is essential to update your R_volution player’s firmware. Please note that this feature is not supported on Zappiti players, so users should ensure they are utilizing compatible devices for the best experience.
Enhanced Performance and Speed Improvements
In addition to the exciting new feature, this version of R_video brings significant improvements in the speed of displaying posters. Users with older-generation players will notice enhancements, but the best performance is observed on players equipped with Amlogic chips. This update aims to streamline the user interface, providing a smoother and more efficient experience.
CSV Export for Video Library
One of the standout new features is the ability to export your video library in CSV format (.csv file) via email. This export includes a comprehensive list of movies, concerts, and TV series episodes, along with vital technical information such as duration and resolution.
Multiple Operations Functionality
The newly introduced “Multiple operations” function allows users to update the viewing status and toggle child mode for a selection of files, enhancing the overall usability of the platform.
Seamless Playback Resumption
With the latest firmware update, R_volution users can now resume playback from one player to another. This feature enables viewers to start watching a movie in one room and conveniently continue it in another, enhancing the flexibility of home entertainment.
Performance Enhancements
The update also includes the preloading of posters in the background after launching the application. This feature ensures that only posters previously displayed during the last use of R_video are preloaded. As a result, users will experience immediate display of preloaded posters and ultra-fast navigation without loading delays, particularly on Amlogic-based players.
Improved NAS Functionality
R_volution NAS users will benefit from more accurate rip messages, ensuring a smoother experience when managing their media libraries. Additionally, manual identification of TV series episodes is now available, allowing users to select all episodes of a season easily.
Fixes and Resolutions
The latest update also addresses several key issues:
- The year was not previously considered for series identification, which has now been rectified.
- Problems with multiple episodes during re-identification have been resolved, and series actors are now retrieved correctly.
- Issues where external subtitle files blocked file identification have been fixed.
- Users will no longer face the disappearance of series and group categories when deleting an episode.
- Subtitle downloads for BDMV structures have been corrected.
- Chained playback is now functional even when there is no episode thumbnail available.
