Fyne Audio’s newest speaker the F704SP (Special Production) has made its debut at AXPONA 2025. The 2.5 way speaker merges the dynamic force of the F704 with the refinement of the elite F1 Series, “delivering breathtaking realism and musicality” says Fyne Audioi.
At its core, Fyne’s 300mm IsoFlare point source driver pairs a 12″ multi-fibre bass/mid cone with a 3″ titanium dome compression tweeter for seamless time alignment, exceptional clarity, and pinpoint imaging. A second 300mm bass driver extends low frequency depth, while the BassTrax Tractrix diffuser system ensures deep, controlled 360 degree room filling bass.
An upgraded crossover featuring ClarityCap capacitors, Vishay resistors, and cryogenic treatment refines signal purity for an immersive, high-fidelity experience. The robust aluminium sandwich plinth, derived from the flagship F1-12S, provides exceptional stability, enhances bass dispersion, and improves overall performance.
Hand finished in the UK in piano gloss black, gloss white, gloss walnut, and a luxurious satin walnut veneer, the F704SP strikes the balance of sonic excellence with sumptuous aesthetics.
The new F704SP is currently Fyne’s top modern-design speaker before you get into the F1 series. With two 12″ drivers on the front, it is imposing even when surrounded by large speakers in a showroom. The main IsoFlare driver is the same as that in the F1-12, with its massive neodymium HF magnet system and 3” titanium dome.
Improvements over the F704
- A redesigned crossover with upgraded components, including ClarityCap capacitors and Vishay resistors
- In-house cryogenic treatment of the complete crossover
- Other component upgrades, such as Neotech PC-OCC internal wiring and WBT NextGen 0703 terminals
- A heavy F1 Series-grade machined aluminum plinth with heavy-duty M12 threaded support cones, adjustable from above
- The secret to Fyne’s amazing bass is BassTrax, a specially shaped diffusor that allows for a 360-degree wave.
Even though the F1 series is the flagship for Fyne, the F704 ($19,000/pr U.S.), F703SP ($20,000/pr), and now, the F704SP ($26,000/pr) are more expensive than the F1-8S ($18,000/pr), the smallest F1 floorstander. This is because the F700 floorstanders has two 10″ drivers compared to the F704 with its two 12″ drivers.
