IDAGIO streaming service is now available within Sense, marking a significant enhancement for classical music enthusiasts. This integration mirrors the existing setups of Deezer and HighResAudio, with dedicated sections on the MUSIC tab for users to explore.
Explore IDAGIO’s Curated Content
IDAGIO offers a vast selection of editorialized, curated, and categorized content, making it easier for users to discover music. Features include weekly picks, trending albums, mood mixes, personalized recommendations, and exclusives. With such a generous library, users can dive into a rich world of classical music.
Seamless Integration and Enhanced Functionality
The Sense universal search function is now compatible with IDAGIO, allowing users to build new playlists and add favorites that synchronize with the native IDAGIO app. The metadata presented while browsing albums is extensive, with navigable links to explore more content by performers, orchestras, conductors, and composers.
All existing favorites from your IDAGIO account will automatically populate in the ‘Collection’ tab within IDAGIO. While it is possible to queue IDAGIO tracks alongside others from different sources, note that tracks from IDAGIO cannot currently be saved in mixed playlists with other services, as IDAGIO operates separately from the main Sense library.
Introducing Multiroom Synchronization
In addition to the IDAGIO update, we are pleased to introduce player synchronization between Innuos streamers. This feature allows users to group two or more Innuos streamers to play the same music simultaneously, creating a harmonious whole-home audio experience.
While users have been able to send audio streams to different Innuos players on the network, these zones were previously treated independently. The update in Sense 3.2 allows for easy multiroom synchronization.
Expanding Compatibility with Squeezelite Players
This new feature is not limited to Innuos devices; it also works with any Squeezelite player, broadening the potential for playback across various audio devices. This includes third-party brands utilizing Squeezelite, as well as DIY devices like Raspberry Pi-based renderers and Squeeze playback applications for various platforms.
To utilize the Innuos Multiroom feature, simply ensure one ‘main’ Innuos system is in standalone mode while others are set to Endpoint mode. This setup centralizes your library, maintaining all your favorites and playlists in one place.
Easy Group Management
Users can create and manage groups of players directly within the Sense app. By tapping on the player name at the bottom of the playback bar, you can select a ‘Groups’ option to create new groups. You have the ability to assign names and sync volumes across all grouped Squeezelite endpoints.
Separating or adding players is a straightforward process, allowing for flexibility in your listening zones. However, please note that UPnP streamers cannot be grouped in this function due to protocol differences, though they can still play a separate audio stream simultaneously.
Enhanced UPnP Management
The Sense app has undergone significant improvements in managing UPnP streamers. The new design simplifies the process and enhances compatibility with available UPnP devices. Users can quickly enable or disable UPnP streamers and rename devices for easier reference.
Compatibility Mode is now available, allowing users to transcode audio for broader compatibility while ensuring stable playback. This mode is designed to deliver a reliable experience, with advanced functions disabled by default. Users can easily revert to Compatibility Mode if they encounter any issues.
A Visual Upgrade: Chromecast Support
In response to user requests for a more visual experience, Sense now supports Chromecast Display. Users can cast the Now Playing screen to any Chromecast-enabled device, such as a TV, providing a visually appealing interface without compromising sound quality.
Simply tap the Chromecast icon on the Now Playing screen to select from available displays. While this feature enhances visual presence, users will still need to control playback through the Sense app.
Quality of Life Improvements
Lastly, Sense 3.2 introduces additional quality-of-life enhancements, including a new edit option for the track queue. Users can now select multiple tracks and rearrange their positions within the current queue easily.
With these updates, we are excited to offer a more integrated and enhanced experience for our classical music-loving customers. The combination of IDAGIO streaming and multiroom synchronization represents a significant leap forward in how you can enjoy your music collection. Enjoy exploring these new features and let us know your feedback!
