Soulines introduced the TT9 turntable, blending cutting-edge design with user-friendly functionality. Drawing inspiration from the company’s flagship models—the TT42 and Kubrick DCX—the TT9 promises to deliver exceptional performance at a more accessible price point, positioning it as an affordable high-end option for vinyl enthusiasts.
Meticulous engineering
The TT9’s construction is a testament to Soulines’ meticulous engineering. Its assembly combines precisely machined components made from cast acrylic, Derlin (a durable POM-engineering plastic), and aluminum. This thoughtful mix of materials results in a lightweight yet rigid structure designed to minimize sound-damaging resonance. By avoiding excessive mass, the TT9 channels unwanted vibrations away from the assembly, ensuring a cleaner, more accurate soundstage. The plinth and sub-plinth elements are optimized using the Golden Ratio and Fibonacci sequence, enhancing uniform vibration damping and reducing the moment of inertia across all three axes.
Derlin all the way
At the heart of the TT9 is an advanced inverted main bearing, featuring a stainless steel outer cup, brass spindle sleeve, and a Derlin thrust plate, all crafted to the highest precision. The sub-platter, machined from Derlin, pairs seamlessly with the 30mm-thick, 2.5kg acrylic platter. Together, they deliver smooth, noise-free rotation with a rumble-free performance. The platter includes a subtle 1.0mm recess for LP labels, allowing records to sit flat. For those concerned about slippage, Soulines includes the TT Clamp, a record clamp that secures LPs firmly to the platter for optimal sound quality.
Compact, high-performance design
The TT9 continues Soulines’ tradition of compact, high-performance designs. Its intuitive setup requires no special tools or technical expertise, making it approachable for newcomers and seasoned audiophiles alike. The turntable’s drive system, powered by a high-quality DC motor borrowed from Soulines’ premium models, offers electronically controlled operation with fine speed adjustment for both 33 and 45 RPM settings. Simple toggle switches handle speed changes and start/stop functions, adding to the user-friendly experience.
Further enhancing its design, the TT9 features a solid aluminum arm-board and a sub-plinth, three-point coupled to the main plinth with rubber-cork washers of varying thickness. This configuration maximizes performance while minimizing acoustic interference. The turntable rests on three adjustable Derlin cones, allowing for easy leveling and optimal coupling to any surface.
Soulines KiVi M3 pre-mounted tonearm
Included with the TT9 is the high-quality Soulines KiVi M3 tonearm, pre-mounted for convenience. Paired with a quality cartridge (sold separately), the TT9 forms a formidable vinyl playback system. The package also includes an acrylic SA Cover dust shield, the TT Clamp, and a cartridge protractor alignment tool printed on 300-gram paper, featuring Baerwald, Loefgren, and Stevenson protractors.
Measuring 425x355x145mm and weighing 10kg (12kg with packaging), the TT9 is compact yet substantial. Availability and pricing may vary by region, so Soulines recommends contacting local distributors or dealers for details.
