Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. proudly announces that starting July 2025, Samsung Wallet will support Mercedes-Benz’s Digital Key. This integration allows Galaxy users to access their Mercedes vehicles in an even simpler and more secure way, directly from their smartphone.
Convenience and Security for Mercedes-Benz Drivers
With the addition of the Digital Key to Samsung Wallet, Mercedes-Benz owners can lock, unlock, and start their vehicles without physical keys. Drivers only need to carry their Galaxy smartphone to gain access to their cars, making driving even easier. Additionally, the digital key offers a secure way to share access with family or friends through an intuitive interface, maintaining control over who can access the vehicle.

Launched in June 2022, Samsung Wallet provides a central platform for managing payment cards, ID cards, and now Digital Keys. The app is secured by Samsung Knox, a leading security system compliant with strict government standards. Its seamless integration within the Galaxy ecosystem ensures powerful connectivity and enhanced safety in users’ daily lives.
Security and Technology Behind the Digital Key
The Mercedes-Benz Digital Key utilizes advanced technologies such as Ultra-Wideband (UWB), a standardized communication protocol that guarantees precise and reliable operation. This technology significantly reduces the risk of unauthorized access. Moreover, the digital keys meet stringent EAL6+ security standards, and users can remotely lock or delete their keys via Samsung Find if their device is lost or stolen.
For added security, user verification via biometrics or PIN is required, ensuring every interaction with the vehicle remains safe and private.
Availability and Future Outlook
The Digital Key feature for selected Mercedes-Benz models will be rolled out globally starting July 2025 in various regions. Users can easily register their digital keys through the Mercedes me app. This development underscores the commitment of both Samsung and Mercedes-Benz to enhancing user experience through innovative technology.
