Onkyo announced at the CEDIA Expo 2024 its latest AV receiver, the TX-RZ30, a 9.2-channel, 100 watt-per-channel smart receiver that features Class A/B amplification, HDMI 2.1a, 8K/4K Ultra HD resolution, and 40 Gbps transfer speeds. The TX-RZ30 joins Onkyo’s RZ lineup which all feature Wi-Fi/Bluetooth, Dirac Live Room Correction, Dolby Atmos 3D Sound, THX Certification, IMAX Enhanced, Klipsch Optimize Mode and more.
Onkyo claims the TX-RZ30 offers the “fastest refresh to keep up with the newest gaming consoles.” With custom low-noise power transformers and smoothing capacitors, the TX-RZ30 hits rumbling lows of 5 Hz and highs of 100 kHz says Onkyo in its press release. Optional user upgrades are available for Dirac Live bass control, which uses machine learning and AI to quickly determine ideal settings for any room layout.
The TX-RZ30 works with smart home assistants like Hey Google, and Siri and supports the music streaming services of Roon, Google Cast built-in, AirPlay2, Spotify, Amazon Music HD, Tidal, Deezer, Pandora and Tunein.
Each receiver comes with a Dirac Live room correction license allowing users to calibrate the full frequency range (20 Hz to 20 kHz) of music and movie sound. An optional Dirac Live bass control ensures that the two independent subwoofer outputs that are calibrated with all other speakers to provide bass refinement and fine details, while enhancing mid and high frequencies.
The TX-RZ30 can also send and receive audio via Bluetooth wireless technology. Users can stream from their device to the receiver using SBC or AAC codecs, or transmit audio playing through the AVR to compatible wireless headphones using SBC, aptX, or aptX HD codecs including 24-bit audio over aptX HD. Onkyo says the improved data transfer capabilities of the latest generation of Bluetooth ensure clear and reliable sound reproduction so you hear your favorite songs just as the recording engineer intended.
The Onkyo TX-RZ30 will be available October 2024 at Onkyo.com and authorized retailers for $1,199 U.S.
