Just in time for Prime Big Deal days, Amazon today showed off an Alexa-equipped Toronto smart home that featured their In-Garage Delivery service. Prime members in over 1,700 Canadian cities, with a compatible myQ Smart Garage, can have their orders delivered to their garage. Amazon says its In-Garage Delivery will provide added convenience and security in a number of ways. This includes helping to protect against weather damage or missing deliveries, ensuring expensive or fragile orders are kept safe, and also offering the ability to receive Amazon packages inside, whether they are home or away.

This innovative service unlocks the full potential of the Amazon Prime experience, providing members with unmatched convenience and peace of mind that their deliveries will be protected.”
As a limited-time launch promotion, Amazon Key In-Garage Delivery will be free for eligible Prime members until 3/31/2025. After the promotion ends, Amazon Key In-Garage Delivery is $1.99 CAD per order. This fee is waived when members use Key Delivery – Pick Your Day, where they choose the day they want their order to be delivered. Amazon Key In-Garage Delivery is now available in over 1,700 cities, towns and neighbourhoods in Canada, including: Toronto, ON; Vancouver, BC; Montreal, QC; Calgary, AB; Winnipeg, MB; Halifax, NS; and Ottawa, ON.
How it works
Amazon Key and Chamberlain Group’s myQ Smart Garage technologies work together to verify delivery drivers and provide temporary, one-time access to members’ garages, so Amazon packages can be placed securely inside. Prime members can start using Amazon Key In-Garage Delivery today by following these steps.
Look at your current garage door opener to see if it already has myQ technology. If you see a myQ logo and a WiFi logo, or “powered by myQ” on your garage door opener, download the myQ app and follow the steps to connect your garage door opener(s) to the myQ app.
If a member does not have a smart garage, myQ offers a fix with myQ Smart Garage Control. It is easy to install and available on Amazon.ca. Once installed, they will have the ability to use In-Garage Delivery and control their garage door from virtually anywhere with their phone.
Next, link your myQ account to Amazon Key in the Amazon shopping app and turn on Amazon Key In-Garage Delivery. Finally, add items to your cart and select In-Garage Delivery at checkout. Amazon Key does the rest.
