Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. has officially launched its latest lineup of foldable smartphones, the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7, alongside the cutting-edge Galaxy Watch8 series, marking a significant leap in mobile and wearable technology. Announced at the Galaxy Unpacked event in New York on July 9, 2025, these devices are now available globally, starting in 49 markets from July 25, with plans to expand to over 110 markets worldwide.
Galaxy Z Fold7: Redefining Foldable Excellence
The Galaxy Z Fold7, priced from $1,999.99, is Samsung’s thinnest and lightest foldable yet, weighing just 215 grams and measuring 8.9 mm when folded and 4.2 mm when unfolded. It features a 6.5-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X cover display with a new 21:9 aspect ratio and an expansive 8-inch main screen, optimized for multitasking and immersive viewing. Powered by the Snapdragon® 8 Elite for Galaxy chip and running on One UI 8, the device integrates Galaxy AI, offering real-time, context-aware intelligence for enhanced productivity and creativity.
A standout feature is the 200 MP ultra-high-resolution camera, paired with the next-gen ProVisual Engine, which delivers professional-quality photography with improved color and detail. The Generative Edit feature automatically detects and suggests removing background elements, streamlining photo editing. The device is encased in a durable Armor Aluminum frame with Corning® Gorilla® Glass Ceramic 2 on the front and Gorilla® Glass Victus® 2 on the rear, ensuring resilience in a sleek design. Available in Blue Shadow, Silver Shadow, Jetblack, and an online-exclusive Mint, the Fold7 has seen Blue Shadow account for nearly 40% of pre-orders globally.
The Galaxy Z Fold7 combines powerful hardware with Galaxy AI in an ultra-thin form factor, empowering users to achieve previously unimaginable tasks, said Annika Bizon, VP of Product and Marketing at Samsung UK & Ireland.
Galaxy Z Flip7 and Flip7 FE: Compact Powerhouses
The Galaxy Z Flip7, starting at $1,099.99, distills flagship performance into a pocketable form. It features a 4.1-inch FlexWindow with ultra-slim 1.25 mm bezels, allowing users to interact with Gemini AI for voice commands and quick tasks without unfolding. The 6.9-inch main display, powered by the Exynos 2500 chipset, supports a 4,300 mAh battery and a 50 MP FlexCam for high-quality selfies and videos. Available in Jetblack, Blue Shadow, Coralred, and Mint, it’s designed for dynamic lifestyles, with Blue Shadow leading pre-order popularity.
For those seeking a more accessible foldable, the Galaxy Z Flip7 FE, priced at $899.99, brings similar AI capabilities and a 50 MP camera in Black or White. However, some reports suggest it closely resembles the previous Galaxy Z Flip6, potentially limiting its appeal for those expecting a significant upgrade.
In South Korea, pre-orders for the Z Fold7 and Z Flip7 surpassed 1.04 million units, setting a record for Samsung’s foldable devices, with over half of the buyers in their 30s, highlighting strong appeal among younger users.
Galaxy Watch8 Series: Health and Comfort on Your Wrist
The Galaxy Watch8 series, including the Galaxy Watch8, Watch8 Classic, and the rugged Galaxy Watch Ultra (2025), introduces advanced health tracking and sleek design. Starting at $349.99 for the Watch8 (Bluetooth) and $649.99 for the Watch Ultra, the series features Samsung’s BioActive Sensor for continuous health monitoring, including sleep, stress, nutrition, and activity tracking. A groundbreaking feature, the Antioxidant Index, measures carotenoid levels in just five seconds, promoting healthy aging.
The Watch8 (available in 44 mm and 40 mm, in Graphite or Silver) and Watch8 Classic (46 mm, in Black or White) incorporate the Dynamic Lug System for enhanced comfort and precise sensor contact. The Watch Ultra, offered in four titanium finishes including Titanium Blue, is built for durability. Running on One UI 8 Watch, the series integrates Gemini AI for voice-activated commands and personalized health coaching, such as running guidance and sleep scores.
The Galaxy Watch8 series is your intelligent, holistic health coach on the wrist, said Kylie Mason, Head of Wearables at Samsung Electronics Australia. It’s designed to help users build and sustain healthy habits with meaningful insights.
